Anyone have additional tweaks or resources they can point me to to mess around? 7950x w/ PBO undervolt by 100mv, 32gb DDR5-6000 EXPO CL30, Kraken X72 (without AM5 brackets), Gigabyte Master X670. Max clock went from 5.85ghz down to 5.775, but higher multi core scores and same single core scores.
Disableturbo boost on battery. Turbo boost whilst great for performance, can quickly drain your battery especially when boosting over long periods of time; Go to battery options -> profiles -> edit profile -> processor management -> maximum processor state and modify the value for battery to be 99% or under; Use thottlestop to undervolt your CPU Nextto High performance there are blue letters that say Change plan settings. Under Processor power management, change the minimum processor state to 5% and leave the maximum at 100%.Profile2 should be set up the same as profile one with the exception of the multiplier, "disable turbo", or both. If you check "disable turbo" on this profile, then it will ensure that your CPU, once it hits a toasty 92C (assuming a value of 8 DTS in the options—you could set this profile to trigger at a more conservative temperature
Sincethen, I've been running Turbo Boost Switcher Pro to automatically disable Turbo Boost when I'm running on battery power, and it has been wonderful: I made it through that 8-hour flight only because Turbo Boost was off. 3D Graphics, and Gaming — are likely to achieve even half of that in practice.LemuelBuenviaje. Hi guys, so basically I was able to disable the boost clock of my Ryzen 7 4800H on my Lenovo Legion 5 by tweaking a few things on the registry to make the toggle appear in battery settings. With boost it clocks at 4.2 Ghz, and without it runs at base clock of 2.9 Ghz. Now the primary reason I would want to disable the boost
Anyway after preventing Turbo Boost, it has never happened again. I measured the Geekbench score on how much performance I would be losing turning off Turbo Boost. It isn't anything major in multi-core score but the difference in single-core is about 35%. (~950 down from ~1300) However, it's not noticeable at all during normal usage.GN3t.
