Does anyone know if the shutter count would be reset on the camera if you do a hard reset (with the small button next to the USB port on the D80 - i.e. not the two-button green dot setting reset)? I know some settings are still maintained after the reset, so hopefully that isn't a sneaky way for people to "dial back" the shutter count when
After you have downloaded and installed Opanda IExif, right click on your latest picture taken with your DSLR, then choose “View Iexif\GPS\IPTC with IExif”. Scroll down until you see “Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera” and you will get your latest DSLR shutter count value. CypherHackz: Do not know what is my Nikon D90 shutter
Compare the shutter count of a DSLR with this database as numbers vary widely by model. Here are some stats: Canon 30D: 128,908 actuations on average before death. Canon 5D: 48.1% survive 557,000- 876,000 actuations. The average camera died after 389,187 actuations. Canon 450D (Rebel XSi): Only 38,995 actuations on average before shutter failure. When it comes to understanding the lifespan of a Nikon D850’s shutter count, there are several aspects to consider. This high-end DSLR camera is designed to deliver optimal performance over an extended period, and that includes its shutter mechanism. The Nikon D850 is rated for a substantial 200,000 actuations in its life span. Currently I have a nikon d3 with 117,929 Sutter releases. Really low for this body but I use it for work so it goes up pretty fast. The body before this was a nikon d700 that I put on the shelf at 589,643 which is nearly triple the expected shutter release count of that body. It still shoots fine but I figured it wouldn't be good to work with
